Eric Reise, our Club’s President and owner of a water purification business, was raised in Hermiston, but left for a career in the travel industry.  Literally a world traveler, his work found him calling home such places as Atlanta Georgia, Seattle, Portland, and The Dalles.  Eric says one of his most interesting trips while working for a Chinese airline ticket broker was to Nepal.  At one time, he sold travel packages for 16 different foreign airlines.

What brought Eric back to Hermiston in 1999?  He says it was to help his parents when his dad became ill.  It was a time when the travel industry was in transition and made the family imperative a decision even easier to make.

We asked Eric if school influenced his career choices.  He said “life is an unending learning experience, education never stops”.  “Opportunity has had more to do with my life’s decisions than anything else.”

Eric’s special interests include motorcycling, downhill skiing, kayaking, traveling, and reading.  He enjoys helping with the World Cup downhill ski races, and was at the February 2010 races at Whistler in British Columbia.  “I love being outdoors and staying active.”

Eric says his Godmother got him involved in Rotary when he lived in The Dalles in the mid-1990’s.  Like most of our members, he enjoys most the camaraderie of the group and the opportunity to be involved in local and international projects.

We enjoy his fun loving leadership
